By vocation, Emma’s professional career spanned over 25 years in the federal government, state government, and in the private sector.

• She is a U.S. Army service-connected disabled veteran who served on active duty and in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Finance Officer for 10 years in Korea, Kansas, and Georgia.
• She worked at Georgia Department of Labor, Georgia Industries for the Blind, and in the construction industry with expertise in budgeting, operations management, quality assurance, and as a data analyst.
• For over a decade, Emma worked in program administration and on workforce development initiatives at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

At that time and for over 20 years, community engagement and facilitating workshops and training was Emma’s passion.  She led many teams in supporting community service initiatives throughout the metro Atlanta, GA. region. She also partnered with non-profit organizations to provide pro bono financial literacy, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills classes throughout the same region.  This was done while Emma was still working full-time.

Since the spring of 2016, Emma has enjoyed working with college students and teaching part-time as an Adjunct Faculty and Professor at several colleges and universities including:

  • Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) Suwanee, GA. campus
  • School of Professional and Applied Psychology, the Organizational Development and Leadership (ODL) Program
  • Taught Team Dynamics and Communication for Leaders to Master of Science (MS) students
• Fall 2023 – present
  • Teaches in person and online
  • Teaches Public Speaking and Operations Management to Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students
  • Teaches entrepreneurship courses to aspiring and current business owners
  • Taught Organizational Behavior and Leadership to Master of Business Administration (MBA) students

In 2018, Emma founded her business, Soft Skills Zone, LLC., and she resigned from the workforce. Now, she teaches (or had taught) workshops, courses, and training throughout the U.S., in India, and in Russia.

To date, Emma remains actively engaged in community outreach initiatives.  She has also served on several boards of directors which focused on higher education, adult learning, entrepreneurship, health and human services, and community outreach.  She is a:

• Certified DISC Facilitator
• Certified Managerial Coach (CMC)
• Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM)

Emma received her Bachelors of Business Administration from Florida International University in Miami, FL., her Master of Arts in Business from Webster University in Saint Louis, MO., and her Doctorate of Christian Leadership and Management (D.CLM) from Kingdom Covenant Leadership Institute (KCLI) in Duluth, GA.

Emma says,  “This has been a journey of a lifetime.  I remember the first time I was teaching.  I was a kid.  Back in the days when we use to go outside and play.  We use to play school.  Guess who was the teacher?  Yep, it was me.  Now, I know my purpose: I was created to teach and inspire others to become their best selves.  All of my experiences, skills, and education has prepared me for such a time as this.  This is my story: from passion to purpose.  My heart is filled with joy!!”

Emma describes herself as a devoted lifelong learner who learns and teaches expecting personal and professional development, growth, and positive transformation.  This has been her journey, from passion to purpose.
